FAQ
- Is flower preservation just for weddings?
While wedding bouquet preservation is very popular, any florals can be turned into a unique keepsake. Floral preservation is a great way to commemorate the memory of loved ones who have passed, anniversaries, baby showers, birth announcements and more. For questions about any custom preservation, please use the inquiry form under the floral preservation tab or the contact us tab.
-I don't live in Southern New England, can you still preserve my flowers?
Yes! While I primarily work with clients in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut I can preserve your flowers if you live in the continental US. Upon booking I will send you packing instructions for you to overnight your bouquet or floral arrangement to me. Please note that these shipping costs are not included in my pricing.
- I do live in Southern New England, can I drop off my flowers instead of shipping?
Yes please! Upon booking or shortly before your event we will arrange a date and time for drop off of your flowers. It is important for Grande Designs to receive your flowers within a day or two of your event to ensure the best quality drying-- the faster I get them drying, the better they will hold their shape and color.
-Can you work with flowers that are already dry?
Absolutely! I can work with pre dried flowers, faux flowers, wood flowers, and can even include sentimental pieces such as charms, ribbons, pictures, lace from your wedding dress and more!
- I have succulents in my bouquet, are you able to preserve these?
Unfortunately succulents are near impossible to preserve due to the amount of moisture in them. I can, however, find and include faux succulents that resemble those in your special arrangement.
-Do flowers change color?
The drying process used at Grande Designs generally keeps the colors of your blooms more than air drying, but some flowers will naturally change during the drying process. For example, red flowers tend to turn a deep burgundy and some white flowers will turn tan.
-Is color correction right for me?
Flowers will naturally change color but color correction services will help restore your flowers vibrancy. Color correction might be right for you if: you have an all white bouquet as white flowers commonly dry yellow or antique cream, have orange colors as these tend to dry more tan/ brown, have calla lilies included in your bouquet, or if you want to add a little more vibrancy to your preserved piece.
-Does the resin change colors?
With proper care, your resin keepsake will maintain a generally clear color. Though all resins will amber over time, sunlight will speed up the ambering process. Grande Designs uses a high quality, UV resistant resin to slow this process.
-How do I order custom work?
Please use the contact us tab. You will receive an email reply in 24-48 hours to begin the custom work process.
-What if my date is not available or has already passed?
If your date has already passed we would be happy to work with your pre dried flowers! If your date is not available and you would still like to book with us I would be happy to walk you through the drying process to ensure your blooms dry beautifully.
- I wish I had known about flower preservation when I got married! Can we do something?
I hear this so often, but the good news is we do have options! Send a picture of your bouquet and I will work closely with you and a local florist to find your favorite wedding flowers and recreate a keepsake to commemorate your special day.
